Privacy Policy

Last updated: [EFFECTIVE DATE]

This Privacy Policy explains how [FULL LEGAL NAME] (“Charme,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Charme mobile application, our websites, and related services (together, the “Services”).

Charme is designed around a simple principle: your conversations are yours. We built the Services so that your chats, uploaded screenshots, match details, and personal notes stay on your device, and so that the minimum necessary information is processed, briefly, to provide each feature you use.

1. Summary (the short version)

The rest of this policy provides the detail.

2. Information stored on your device (not collected by us)

The following information is created and stored locally on your device, and is not uploaded to or retained on our servers:

If you delete the app or use “Clear all data,” this information is permanently removed. Because it exists only on your device, we cannot access it, recover it, or restore it for you.

3. Information we collect

a. No account information. The Services have no accounts and no sign-in. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or dating-app identity. Your installation is identified only by an anonymous device identifier (a random ID generated when you first open the app), which is used to activate your subscription and to prevent abuse.

b. Content you submit for processing. When you use a feature, such as uploading a screenshot, requesting a reply, or running a safety check, the relevant content is transmitted to our servers and processed transiently in memory to generate your result. This content may include images and text of conversations, dating profiles, and photographs. We do not write this content to storage, log it, or retain it after your request completes, except where you explicitly opt in (see Section 3(e)).

c. Usage and device information. We collect limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and bill the Services: the anonymous device identifier, platform (iOS/Android), request counts used for rate limiting and abuse prevention, error reports, and request metadata such as timestamps and latency. Our logs are designed to be content-free: they do not include your messages, screenshots, or profiles.

d. Purchase and referral information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play; we do not receive or store your full payment card details. We receive purchase status from our subscription-management provider to activate your plan, tied to the anonymous device identifier. If you install the app through a creator’s referral link, we record which link was clicked, the platform, the anonymous device identifier, and short-lived technical signals used to match the click to the install: a salted, one-way hash of the network address and a coarse device class, kept only for the attribution window. Raw network addresses are never stored. This tells us which creator to credit, nothing more.

e. Optional contributions. If, and only if, you explicitly opt in, we may retain anonymized samples of content (with names and identifying details removed) to evaluate and improve the quality of the Services. This is off by default.

f. Website information. If you contact us, we collect the email address and message you provide.

4. How we use information

We use the information described above to: provide and operate the Services (including generating AI results in response to your requests); prevent abuse and enforce rate limits; process subscriptions and referral attribution; secure the Services and debug problems; comply with legal obligations; and communicate with you about the Services. We do not use your content to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell personal information.

5. AI processing and service providers

Charme uses third-party AI models to provide its features. When you use a feature, the relevant content is transmitted securely to one or more of the following categories of providers, strictly to generate your result:

Each provider receives only what is necessary for its function. We do not permit our providers to use your content for their own purposes.

6. Screenshots and information about other people

The Services allow you to submit screenshots of conversations and dating profiles, which naturally contain information about other people (for example, your match). This content is processed transiently as described in Section 3(b) and is not retained by us. We process it on the basis of our and your legitimate interests in providing communication assistance and protecting you from fraud, balanced against the interests of the individuals concerned. That balance is one of the reasons we designed the Services not to build server-side databases of third parties. You are responsible for using the Services lawfully and respectfully with regard to other people’s information (see the Terms of Service, Section 6).

Safety-related outputs (risk indications) are automated signals for your personal awareness only. They are not assertions of fact about any person, and we do not maintain profiles, lists, or records of individuals flagged by the feature.

7. Data retention

8. Your rights

Depending on your location (including under the EU/UK GDPR, the Thailand Personal Data Protection Act, and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Because your conversations live only on your device and the app has no accounts, you can exercise most of these directly through the app’s controls (“Clear all data,” or deleting the app). For anything else, contact [PRIVACY EMAIL]. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

9. International transfers

We are based at [REGISTERED ADDRESS], and our service providers process data in various countries, including the United States. Where personal data is transferred from jurisdictions that restrict international transfers, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

10. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS) for all communication with our servers and providers, access controls and secrets management on our infrastructure, and content-free logging by design. No system is perfectly secure, but our architecture is deliberately built so that the most sensitive information, your conversations, never resides on our servers at all.

11. Children

The Services are intended for adults and are strictly limited to users aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the Services, contact us at [PRIVACY EMAIL] and we will take appropriate action.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by other appropriate means before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
